The Schoolboys Football Association of Ireland is delighted to confirm that entry for the 2019/2020 SFAI Skechers National Cups is now open.

We are now asking all 32 leagues to get behind the competition and encourage all their clubs to enter

Following a record year in 2018/19, the competition will see teams from across Ireland compete both regionally and nationally for silverware from September 2019 to May 2020.

Last season saw the likes of St Kevin’s Boys, Leixlip United, Cherry Orchard, Hanover Harps and Salthill Devon all claim national titles, while in the regional competition, there was huge excitement as several clubs claimed their first ever SFAI success.

The regional element of the competition is one that clubs should keep a close eye on, with several regions now making the finals a standalone event over one weekend.

These weekends have proven hugely successful, and we hope this can be replicated right across the across the country next season.

For those entering, they should be aware of the age criteria below, and they should also clarify with their leagues about the region they play in if they are not sure.

U13's Shield Champions 2015/2016

This Saturday our under 13's took to the field in their final game of the season against Croom .This was a winner takes all match as both teams had a chance of taking home the shield. The game started spritely and the instruction which was dished to the team before kick-off was very evident in the early stages, possession was bossed and several attacking sequences were executed one after another. Within the first 15 minutes all the play seemed to be heading one direction in search of the first goal and the Croom defence and keeper were not given a seconds rest, it seemed the ball which was being used must have been like a rock, as shot after shot deemed un-effective. After surviving the early onslaught Croom worked the ball down field and created a 1v1 inside our 18 yard box, our defender must have missed the pressing sessions we did during the season and lunged in toward the ball catching the opposing player and conceding a penalty.

Well done to Parkville U12 Girls who recently won their first ever game in the Limerick County Girls League. Parkville have only joined the league this season and best of luck to them in the future.

Limerick County U13 ETP who were in action recently in the DD Cremins Tournament in Tipperary. The boys showed much improved form and will be looking forward to next season

See on left the draw for the 2019 Kennedy Cup. Limerick County have been drawin in Group 5 along with Kildare, Kerry & Clare. Kennedy Cup this year is from June 11th to 15th in UL.

Knockainey girls U12 took Division 1A honours last Sunday after defeating Kilmallock.

Both Holycross and Aisling Annacotty through to the Last 16 of the Womens FAI 14s National Cup.

In Round 3, Aisling Annacotty beat Ballingarry 3-2 and Holycross beat Kilavilla 5-1 (Goals – Ciara Ryan (2), Michaela Cumes, Anna Mulcahy and OG). Well done to both and best of luck in the next round.

Galbally Advance to open section and last 32 with big win against BT Harps

Galbally U15s continued their impressive run of form in the National Cup with a convincing 5-1 win away to BT Harps of Templemore Tipperary. Galbally played with wind in first half and went ahead after 20 mins Owen O'Sullivan getting on the end of a long ball.Very unlucky not to go 2 up with a long range effort from Cathal O'Mahony .Owen O'Sullivan scored right on haft time with a half volley.2nd half Bt Harps pressed on to get back into game but came up against a very strong defence & goalkeeper. Owen got Galballys third finishing off a good build up. Kealon Hogan got the fourth from close range & Cathal O'Mahony got the fifth with a excellent finish. Bt harps got a consolation goal with last kick of game and overall a great team result for Galbally. Well done to Donie, Robert & all the boys.

Limerick County just denied in Final by Limerick District

Well done to our U14 ETP squad who reached the final of the Liam O Donovan tournament in Charleville yesterday. Beating South Tipp 2-1 in the semifinals and coming up against Limerick District in the final. District won it 1-0 but it was a very close game not a kick of a ball between us. Well done to man of the tournament Seán Carroll limerick County and to the county coaches own choice of man of the tournament Cathal Kearn’s. It was a great run out for us. Some things we need to work on but that’s to be expected, at the end of the day they are still kids developing as players. Thanks to South Tipp, Limerick Desmond and Limerick District for coming
