U16 Prem Knocklong/Hospital 3 Charleville 1
A good days work saw the boys force a playoff with near neighbours Galbally. preparations were not ideal with so many players invloved with the County hurling and football teams but to their credit everyone made the effort.
The game started with the home team on the front foot and deservedly took the lead when the Charleville keeper made a fine save but could only parry the ball and Cian McCarthy pounced to put the home side 1 up it was then Charleville's turn to have a couple of chances but fortunately for us they were not able to convert them. Cian Macarthy then thought he had no 2 when he beat the keeper but unfortunatley the goal line technologey said no goal. Chris Beville then saw his effort rattle the bar Adam Slattery was moved up front as switches had to be made as playing two matches on heavy pitches was begining to take its toll. So a couple of mins after going up front A Slattery got his goal and shortly after that he got his second after some excellent wing play from Alan Buckley.
There were so many great individual performances but the most pleasing thing was the team performance and how they played their football.
