Murroe 3 - 1 Cappamore Celtic
Murroe claimed the spoils in closely fought derby game played in great conditions. Cappamore started brightly but Jamie Kirby in Murroe goals kept out an early effort from Billy Daly. Soon Murroe gained control with the Quaid twins Killian & Liam winning the midfield battle. David Moloney opened the scoring after 8mins latching on to a through ball from Brian O'Keefe to finish calmly. Murroe continued to press and after David Moloney was taken down in the box he dusted himself down to stroke home the peno. As the half came to a close Cappamore exerted some pressure but Murroe back four held firm. 2-0 at the break. Second half Cappamore with some positional changes had a couple of efforts which Jamie Kirby dealt well with. Murroe went 3 up on 5mins with a nice flowing move, Mikey Walsh finding Brian O'Keefe who played lovely through ball for Ciaran Darcy who after a great run , laid it back for David Moloney to strike into the top corner to complete his hattrick. Roan van Dijk & Ciaran D'Arcy both went close soon after. Cappamore never gave up the fight and pulled a goal back with ten mins left with a worldy goal from 25 yards. Murroe held firm with Jeffrey O'Rourke in particular outstanding at the back. Good open game with Murroe deserving of the win.

Castle United 4 - 5 Murroe
Well done to our u15 boys today who made a great comeback against castle Utd, boys were 3 nil down at half time (must have being thinking about santas imminent arrival!) but with a quiet word in the boys ears from management and a chat amongst themselves at half time they got straight into it in the second half to put 3 past the castle keeper in the space of five mins, game on at that stage, Murroe went behind again with about ten mins to go to with a well taken goal from the castle forward to make it 4-3 to Castle Utd, the boys rallied again and put another two goals into the back of the net to make the final score 4-5 to Murroe, getting the winner with only a couple of mins to spare. Goals on the day came from Jack O'Carroll 3 (2 of which were very well taken free kicks, which wouldn't look out of place on match of the day!) Jay Ryan 1 and Haytam Kamil 1, well done boys. We would also like to wish Jay Ryan a speedy recovery who suffered a broken wrist during the game only realising it when the match was over and having to make a trip to A&E.

Murroe 9 - 2 Castle Rovers
Murroe had a comfortable win versus a determined Castle Rovers team on sat. Euan Sheridan stealing the show with 4 goals in a great individual & team performance.Murroe took an early lead from Euan which Castle deservedly equalised in an even first quarter but gradually Murroe took control and despite Lee O'Rourke been denied on 3 occasions by R.Slater castle keeper, the goals followed for Luke Hamilton, Euan 2nd & great strike from Jeffrey O'Rourke to make it 4-1 at halftime. The 2nd half followed similar pattern with Mikey Kelly having a strong game in defence for Murroe adding to the score, Luke added his 2nd following great pass from Alex Considine and shortly after Euan completed his hattrick from great cross from the left by Brian O'Keefe. Castle were not giving up the battle and got their 2nd goal the least their efforts deserved. Liam Quaid got a terrific goal after a long solo run and fittingly Euan Sheridan rounded off the score with a well taken effort.

20/11 14:15
Aisling Annacotty 4 - 2 Murroe
Aisling Annacotty U16 girls continued their fine form of late, with a 4-2 win at home to Murroe. Murroe opened the scoring after 10 minutes, before a fine cross from Anna Carr found Aisling Doran in space, who wrong-footed the keeper with a well-directed, left footed equaliser. 15 minutes into the second half, Rachel O Dell drew a foul inside the box, and Sarah Cleary gave the Murroe keeper no chance with the resultant spot kick. Back came Murroe however, and Abby McCarthy, who was having a fine game in goal, could do nothing about an excellent second for Murroe’s Cara Griffin. With the game finely balanced, it was all hands to the pumps, with Íde Ní Ifearnáin, Amy Keogh, and Katie Murphy doing Trojan defensive work, and Sarah Cleary mopping up anything that got past them. Then came a moment of inspiration, as Rachel O’Dell powered her way through several attempted tackles, before squaring to Laoise Ní Aodha, who buried the shot with customary panache. The tension ratcheted up as Murroe went after another equaliser, and the defence was grateful for moments of respite due to excellent hold up play from Ally Reeves, Aisling Doran and Finn Pearse, who were having their best games in an Aisling jersey. Finally, the tie was put to bed, when Laoise Ni hAodha raced down the middle on a breakaway, and sealed the win with another clinical finish from 18 yards.

Castle Rovers 0 - 6 Murroe
Murroe U14s travelled to Castle Rovers Sat Oct 29th. Despite Murroe only having 10 players on the day the boys rallied together and put on a super display of soccer with Jay Ryan and Liam Quaid both netting a hatrick and Stephen Moore getting his first couple of goals of the season, also on target for Murroe was Ciaran Fitzgerald. Castle Rovers missing a few of their regulars kept the pace on to the very end and were unlucky on a couple of occasions not to put a score on the board.
