Ballylanders soccer club was founded in 1987.The first meeting of the club was held in McDermotts Hall. Founder members were Ciaran McDermott, Pad Fitzgerald, Johnny Connolly, Jimmy Daly, Joe Daly, D.J. Noonan and Liam O'Connor. Ballylanders A.F.C. played its first football in the North Cork Soccer League in the season 1987/88. Winning both the league and shield titles in its first season.

Having played for two seasons in the N.C.L the club decided to join the Limerick District League in the 1989/90 season playing in League Div 4. Over the next few years the club made good strides in the Limerick league and our Junior A side currently enjoy Div 3A status.

The club has under age teams in the Limerick County Schoolboy League at U12, U14, U15 and U16 age groups. We also have under age girls at U12, U14 and U16 levels.

Limerick Belles 2 - 8 Ballylanders

Bally travelled to Crescent College on a windy Sunday morning to play Limerick Belles knowing that a win and the league title was theirs. And win they did with Laoise Browne scoring 6 and Saoirse Casey scoring 2, to say it was a easy would be further from the truth Limerick Belles a very tough and physical side made Bally earn their 9th straight win of the season, congratulations to Robert and his fantastic team. Raewyn, Sinead, Peggy, Emily, Sarah, Eimear, Ciara, Rachel, Aisling, Laoise, Saoirse, Shauna, Sophie, Hannah and Clodagh. League cup & medals presentation will be made and Rob will be advised date of this.

Looking forward to a good cup run.

Regional B 0 - 6 Ballylanders
On a beautiful pitch Regional hosted Bally who got off to a terrific start with an early goal scored by Laoise Browne. Bally pushed for their second but Regional hit on the counter and a great save by last seasons co u12 goalie Raewyn Downey it could have been a completely different game. This spurred Bally into action and two further goals from Saoirse Casey and second by Laoise 4-0 half time. Coach Rob McInerney used the roll on off option giving all his squad a good run out two further goals in second half 1 by Rachel Walsh and Laoise hatrick the ref blew full time. Regional United secured another win against a goid Ballylanders side putting Regional Utd in a strong position at the top of the table. Good team effort with a superb performance by goalie Eva Long who kept Ballylanders at bay and secured Regionals 5th clean sheet in a row.

Even though Bally were missing three of our small squad we threw everything bar the kitchen sink at Charleville but their magnificent goalie and at times back 7 could not be broken down. Bally boys were immense and kept going until the final whistle a thrilling Nil-Nil.

A pulsating end to end game with the Ballykeeper pulling off 4 or 5 outstanding saves, Murroe deservedly won 2 -0 but even though Murroe had the better chances Bally had two late chances to equalise and Murroe pounced on the break to get their second. Bally line up. In goals and player of the match Sophia Fox, backs Niamh Shanahan, Riona Walsh Mairead Halpin Grace Magner, midfield Sarah & Aine Blade, Shannon Corbett Olivia Donohoe(C) Ailis Walsh & Ciara Meade up front. Well done to both teams and their coaches.

Aisling Annacotty 4 - 0 Ballylanders
Aisling Annacotty ran out 4-0 winners against Ballylanders in the second round of the league on Sun Oct 2nd. 2 first half goals by Laoise Ní hAodha put Aisling in command. The second half was a tight affair with both teams creating chances, however Aisling proved too strong in the end and 2 late goals by Rachel O Dell and Emma Donohoe secured the win. Fine performances by Abby McCarthy and Sarah Cleary in defence ensured Ballylanders were kept at bay throughout.
