1282712/07/1912/07/193SFAI SKECHERS National Cup Entry for 2019/2020 SeasonThe Schoolboys Football Association of Ireland is delighted to confirm that entry for the 2019/2020 SFAI Skechers National Cups is now open. We are now asking all 32 leagues to get behind the competition and encourage all their clubs to enter The attached graphic can be used to promote the competition online on your social channels Following a record year in 2018/19, the competition will see teams from across Ireland compete both regionally and nationally for silverware from September 2019 to May 2020. The SFAI Skechers National Cups continue to draw huge attention and interest, and next season promises to be another exciting one. As was the case last season, entry is available online via the link below, and we thank our technology partners Sportlomo for their continued work and support in managing the competition. Last season saw the likes of St Kevin’s Boys, Leixlip United, Cherry Orchard, Hanover Harps and Salthill Devon all claim national titles, while in the regional competition, there was huge excitement as several clubs claimed their first ever SFAI success. The regional element of the competition is one that clubs should keep a close eye on, with several regions now making the finals a standalone event over one weekend. These weekends have proven hugely successful, and we hope this can be replicated right across the across the country next season. For those entering, they should be aware of the age criteria below, and they should also clarify with their leagues about the region they play in if they are not sure. Age criteria details: U12 – 2008 U13 – 2007 U14 – 2006 U15 – 2005 U16 – 2004 Competition Entry: Please follow this link to enter the SFAI Skechers National Cups 2019/20:

These are basically the same age groups that they played previously. Next weekend it will be the turn of the odd age groups and the return also of the girls section. The following will also see the first round of the National Cups. First up in the U14 Premier were Kilfrush Crusaders and Murroe with the home side coming out on top 3-2. Goalscrorers for Kilfrush were Conor Martin with 2 and James O Sullivan while Killian Quaid better known for his goalkeeping prowess getting both goals for Murroe. Last seasons runners up Charleville were 2-0 home winners over new boys Cullen. Shane O Riordan with both goals. The game of the day was undoubtedly in Martinstown in U14 Division 1 where Castle Utd & Herbertstown shared 10 goals in a heartstopping 5-5 draw where the lead changed 3 times. Killian Aherne being the undoubted Man of the match. He scored twice and set up another 2 for Castle Utd. Patrick Mooney, James Philpott & Jack Carroll with the other goals. Herbertstown also played their part in a great game having being behin twice before taking lead late only to concede very late fo a share of the spoils. No goalscorers at hand for Herbertstown. Elsewhere in this division, Knockainey had a 1-0 win over Pallas Utd with Diarmuid Enright bagging the winning goal. U12 Premier Holycross hosted Kilmallock and prevailed on a 3-0 scoreline. 789925/06/1825/06/183Gaynor Cup Weekend 23rd/24th Update U14's Finish in 11th place while U16's Finish 16thThere wasn't much luck for either Gaynor Cup team this week as the U14's Finish in 11th place while U16's Finish 16th. The U16's lost all bar one of their games by a single goal and their final position doesn't do Justice to their efforts over the week. A 1-0 defeat on Saturday to Sligo/Leitrim in the Bowl Semi Finals was followed by another 1-0 reverse to Cork on Sunday. The U14's were beaten in the plate semi final by Inishowen on a scoreline of 2 goals to 1 with Grace Fitzgerald getting the goal. On Sunday they played Sligo/Leitrim for the 11th/12th place finish. They led 2-0 at half time before finishing the game level at 3-3. Grace Fitzgerald, Aoife Cronin & Emma Kett on target. After a nail biting penalty shootout the girls prevailed with all 5 girls scoring. The penalty takers were Jodie Keane, Aine Walsh, Aoife Cronin, Libby, Costelloe and Jenna Slattery. Well done to all girls who participated the weekend and we hope ye enjoyed it all.
725123/06/1823/06/183Gaynor Cup Udate Friday 22nd JuneNo Luck for both U14 & U16's on day 2The U16 Girls had 2 games today and were defeated narrowly in both games by a single goal. Luck was definitely not on this teams side this week as a 1-0 loss to Midlands in the morning was followed by a 2-1 reverse to Wexford in the evening. They now go into the bowl where they will play Sligo/Leitrim in the semis at 4.30pm Saturday. Their was heartbreak for the u14girls as they dominated from start to finish in their bid to top the group but could just not score that elusive one goal they craved to make the Gaynor Cup semifinals.Despite great chances from Aoife Cronin , Aine Walsh , Emma Kett and Ellen Costello , two massive shouts for penalties and a brilliant Midlands’ goalkeeping performance the Midlands held on to acquire the point they themselves needed to qualify. It was a tremendous effort by the girls and they are getting better with each game. They eventually finished 3rd in a group on a head to head & if it was goal difference like the boys they would have finished second. Ironically if the boys were head to head they would have topped the group. The girls now play in the plate tomorrow Saturday at 1.30pm against Inishowen.
724322/06/1822/06/183Gaynor Cup Update Thursday 21stMixed fortunes for Limerick County Teams on day one of Gaynor CupThe Gaynor Cup opened in UL in perfect conditions today. There was mixed fortunes for our Limerick County teams with the U14's having a win and a draw while the U16's suffered defeat in the their only game of the day to a strong Donegal outfit by three goals to one. They play 2 games tomorrow, one at 10am v Midlands and their last group game at 4.30pm v Wexford. The U14s played twice today losing their opener in a tight game with very good MGL side by a goal to nil. The best chances in this game coming from set pieces. In the second game they turned on the style winning by 6 goals to 1 against Mid Western. A great performance from all here with Kilmallocks Aoife Cronin the star of the show with a hat trick. The others were scored by Aine Walsh, Emily O Halloran & Jenna Slattery. They probably have to win their last game against Midlands (who have won both games) to go through to the knockout stages. Best of luck to both the U14s & U16s today again.
724121/06/1821/06/183Gaynor CupLimerick County Gaynor Cup U14 & U16 Squads ready for the test aheadBest of Luck to our U14 & U16 Gaynor Cup squads who today begin their quest for glory in UL. The U14's are managed by Jim Morrissey & U16's by Pat Dunne. We will try & have a report daily for each if we can. As with any big tournament like these preparation is key and a lot of time over the last few years have been spent getting these girls ready. Hopefully they will do themselves justice and have a great tournament. Picture Attached is the U14 Gaynor Cup squad.

716014/06/1814/06/183Kennedy Cup Update Thursday 14th JuneLimerick County finish 12th in Kennedy Cup after 2 penalty shoot out losses to Kilkenny & ClareLimerick County finished their Kennedy Cup week today when they had to settle for a very good 12th place after 2 penalty shootout losses to Kilkenny & Clare. First up today was Kilkenny in the semi final of the Bowl(for teams who were runners up in their group). Kilkenny started the brighter but did not create any clearcut chances and once the County boys settled into the game they looked the more likely to break the deadlock. Best chances of the game were late in the game when first County hit the post from a corner off a Conor Finn header and Conor had a free kick spilled on the goal line by the Kilkenny keeper but no one there to follow up. Just before full time Owen O Sullivan beat a couple of players and was through on goal, he rounded the keeper only to be hauled down just outside the box by the keeper who only received a yellow card. No goal from the resulting free kick meant that it was straight to penalties and luck was not on the counties side as the Kilkenny keeper made 2 saves in a penalty shoot out where he probably should not have been to send Kilkenny through to the final. It was very tough luck on the boys as they were the better side and created the more clear cut chances. The final game was against Clare and again after a dour game ended 1-1 courtesy of a stunning goal on the volley from Cathal O Mahoney it went to penalties and again came out on the wrong side on a scoreline of 6-5. All in all it was a superb week for all involved from Manager Greg Foley, Coaches Timmy Rainsford, Ray Ryan & John Foley, all the players ( who all played some part in the week) who were magnificent on & off the field and of course not forgetting the parents and supporters. On behalf of the league a big Thank You to ye all for a great weeks entertainment.
715613/06/1813/06/183Kennedy Cup Update Wednesday 13th JuneLimerick County defeat Waterford to advance to Semi Finals of BowlOur Kennedy Cup squad kept their good form in this years tournament going when they had a well deserved 1-0 win over Waterford today courtesy of a goal from Paddy Kennedy. The boys were well on top for the whole game and really could have scored 3 or 4 so much was their dominance. They took the lead in the first half when a shot by Owen O Sullivan came off the post and Paddy Kennedy was there at the back post to tap home. It was all one way traffic again in the second half and Dion Curtin had a header narrowly wide from close range & had another shot excellently saved by the Waterford keeper. John English ran onto a broken ball and a great shot from 25 yards brought another excellent save from the keeper. Another super performance from the boys who march onto the semi finals against Kilkenny at 12.30 on Grass Pitch 1 tomorrow Thursday. A great week for all involved so far and hopefully it will continue tomorrow.
715412/06/1812/06/183Kennedy Cup Update Tuesday 12th JuneLimerick County qualify for Bowl in second place( on Goal Difference)Our Kennedy Cup squad were oh so close to topping the group on the second day of the Kennedy Cup just losing out on Goal Difference. After a tremendous effort last night against Kildare it was no surprise that it took a small while to get going in their first match of the day against South Dublin Football League. A deflected ball over the top was dispatched to the net by the South Dublin centre forward after 10 mins and try as they might after that County could not find an equalizer. They had a few decent chances with the best chance falling to Billy Daly who just got there before the keeper but his lobbed effort going agonisingly wide. They had South Dublin on the rack for all of the second half until South Dublin made it 2-0 from the penalty spot with the last kick of the game. Onto the second game of the day against West Cork and there was no let up from the word go as they tore into West Cork from start to finish and ran out comfortable winners by 2 goals to nil. A brilliant run and pass by Harry Fox to Cathal O Mahoney saw the Galbally man finish with aplomb after 10 mins to put County 1-0 up. As I said County dominated the game and were rewarded with a second goal 14 mins into the second half when great work by Harry Fox again (I have to say he was outstanding) and he fed Cathal O Mahoney who skinned his marker for the umpteenth time and sent over perfect cross for Dion Curtin to head home much to the delight of everyone. Noah Patterson hit the post and another few chances went a begging as Kildare topped the group courtesy of a 4-0 win and better goal difference. It was another excellent performance from everybody and hopefully all those who took a knock or are carrying one will be ok tomorrow. The boys play Waterford on Grass Pitch 3 at 3pm in the 1/4 final of the bowl for finishing in runners up spot in their group. Well done to all again and best of luck tomorrow.
710711/06/1816/06/183Kennedy Cup Update Monday 11th JuneLimerick County down well fancied Kildare in Kennedy Cup opener Cup Scores Group 7.PNGOur Kennedy Cup Update for Monday 11th June brings great news from UL as our Squad are celebrating after after a brilliant 3-1 win over a very good Kildare side who just could not get loose due to the unbelievable work rate and determination from all involved. It was a dream start for the boys and will give them great confidence going forward. 2 goals from Owen O Sullivan and 1 from Dion Curtin saw the boys secure the win against a well fancied Kildare but it would be unfair to single out anybody as to a man they were all excellent and worked tirelessly as well as some great football. Next up is the South Dublin Football League at 12.30 (Pitch 3 Grass)Tuesday followed by West Cork at 6pm (Pitch 7 All Weather) on Tuesday to complete the group.
703902/06/1802/06/183Limerick County Kennedy Cup SquadLimerick Kennedy Cup Squad ready for a big week. The Limerick County Kennedy Cup squad are nearing their week of destiny next week. The majority of these kids have been together for four years. A few new players joined us early this season and have brought a breath of fresh air into the squad. This current season has seen the squad play close to thirty games which is pretty decent for an Inter League squad. The squad has trained once per week which was upped to twice per week from March to current time. During the current season, we have played Wexford, Clare, South Tipperary, West Waterford East Cork, Athlone, Mayo and Roscommon to name just a few. We are in a very tough group and are ranked as 4th seeds in our group. We have drawn Kildare, South Dublin and West Cork and will play them in that order. Kildare, we believe, are in it to win it and have recently come back from a one week Training Camp in Portugal. South Dublin, like all of the Dublin Teams will be strong. Likewise, West Cork will prove to be tough opponents. The last few years has been reasonably tough for the Limerick County teams in this competition and all I can say is that this group will give everything they have in every game and it won’t be for the want of trying
702727/05/1827/05/183DD Cremins U13 TournamentLimerick County U13's at DD Cremins TournamentLimerick County U13's took part in the DD Cremins U13 Tournament in Cooke Park Tipperary, home of St Michaels. Drawn in Group 1 they kick started the day with a draw with South Tipp. They took the lead through Michael Ryan(Cappamore) after great work down the right by Hugh Murnane(Herbertstown) only to concede a late goal to South Tipp. Bailey Ryan(Kilfrush) being outstanding at centre back. In the second game v Wexford, it was a slow start from the county boys as the much more physyical Wexford took the game to them but County soon settled and were the better team to half time and went in 1-0 to the good courtesy of agoal from Cody Kok(Charleville). The loss of 4 key players was a big loss at the start of the second half and Wexford turned the game around to score 2 second half goals to win 2-1. The last game v Kilkenny was a case of who could walk would play and tough game for all with Kilkenny away more fresher and running out convincing winners. Cody Kok with the solitary goal in this game. 3 games proved too much for the boys as they played ever so well for a game and a half. A lot to work on for next year but also a lot of positives.

We were very proud of each and every child today well done again to all boys. Congratulations also to Limerick Desmond and thank you also to Kerry for giving us three cracking games also.

Regional had the dream start they must have dreamt about the night before when after only 10 mins they found themselves 2 goals up courtesy of Aine Walsh and Ellen Costello. Salthill were soon on the scoresheet themselves on 15 mins but another goal from Ainew Walsh had the girls 3-1 up at half time. Salthill piled on the presure in the 2nd half and although they reduced the arrears to 3-2 they could never find the equaliser and it was Regional who made it through after an excellent performance. Congrats to all the girls and coaches and hopefully can go all they way. They have been drawn at home to Real Tubber of Sligo in the quarter Finals.

583918/12/1718/12/173Limerick County U13 share spoils with Limerick Desmond in Inter LeagueLate Strike denies Limerick County 2 wins from 2On Sunday 10th December our U13 Inter League teams played Desmond league in atrocious and freezing conditions. Making a number of Changes from the previous game we were 1-0 up courtesy of a stunning strike from Michael Ryan from all of 35 yards. it was nip and tuck for most of the game but Desmond put the pressure on for the last 10 mins and were rewarded with an equaliser in the last minute. The development game was only 20 minutes in when the referee had no choice but to abandon the game due to the poor conditions with the score standing at 1-0 in the countys favour. A word of praise for all who braved the elements on Sunday morning especially the Substitutes from both sides.

569629/11/1729/11/173U13 ETP start Inter League with win away to ClareMichael Ryan & David Moloney on Target as U13 ETP's record opening win away to ClareOur u13 E.T.P. squad travelled to Tulla Co.Clare today for the first round of the subway championship. In what was a horrible day for football on grass surface both LCDUL EPT and Clare etp can be proud of the football games they put on for a large watching crowd. The inter-league game finished on a score line of CLARE 1 LCDUL 2, what a excellent game of football was seen, LCDL started the stronger and was controlling game with some nice play between the back and midfield for the first ten mins, but credit to CLARE they found a way to get in to game and after a some pressure they took the lead. the response from the lads was quick and after seeing an effort cleared of the line Michael Ryan had another effort from 25 yards which the goalkeeper could only parry and David Moloney was on hand to make it one all. THE second half was more like the first with our boys on top of game with Shane Ryan pulling the strings. The second goal came after some strong pressing by the team saw Sean Carroll split the CLARE back four with a great ball for Michael Ryan to finish nicely into the far bottom corner. Again CLARE came back at us but some strong defending and some top goalkeeping by Kevin Stanley, saw us come out on top. The other game of the day saw our development team play our host. With some new boys playing for the first time in a set up like this. we started well and were enjoying some nice play ,until we got hit with a sucker punch off a goal after 12 mins. After that strike CLARE grew into game and some nice play saw them take a deserve 3 nil in at half time. Credit to our boys they stuck to the way we want them to play football and tried to get back into the game but as we pushed forward CLARE caught us on the break and made it a score line of CLARE 5 LCDUL 0. The Score line might look one sided but it was far from it.

545801/11/1701/11/173Girls U16 FAI Cup 2nd RoundAisling break Kilmallock hearts in penalty shoot out after stalemateAisling Annacotty 1-1 Kilmallock AET, 4-2 on penalties The Aisling-Annacotty U16 girls reached the 3rd round of the National FAI Cup on bank holiday Monday, on penalties, after a pulsating match in Annacotty. Kilmallock got off to the ideal start when, after only 5 minutes, Clodagh Doherty was put through 1 v 1, and calmly slotted to the net giving Kilmallock the early lead. Both teams competed fiercely and created scoring chances but it wasn't until the 70th minute that a superb volley from Susan O'Shea gave the Kilmallock goalie no chance and equalised the match for Aisling-Annacotty. After extra time still hadn't separated the 2 sides, the outcome of the match was decided by penalties. Clodagh Doherty and Amy Fitzgerald scored for Kilmallock while Alicia O'Callaghan, Emma Costelloe, and Sarah Hall converted for the home team. 503908/09/1708/09/173Kilfrush come from behind to defeat Pallas in U13 Premier Division Opener Crusaders opened their U13 campaign with a good 4-2 victory over a plucky Pallas Utd side in Pallas this evening. First real chance of the game fell to Evan McCarthy of Pallas after 5 mins but he pulled his shot wide of goal when put clean through by Scott Ryan Coleman. Pallas did take the lead shortly after when a free kick by Evan McCarthy was well saved by the Kilfrush keeper but Gavin Tobin was on hand to poke home the rebound. Kilfrush dominated for much the rest of the first half and duly equalised shortly after when a great ball by Shane Ryan put James O Sullivan through and he made no mistake to put the sides in level at half time. Kilfrush continued to dominate but were caught on the break when a long ball sent Gavin Tobin free and he lobbed the keeper for an excellent finish. It was all Kilfrush from here on with Shane Ryan, Jake McNamara and James O Sullivan causing all sorts of trouble for Pallas and with 10 mins to go Josh Sheehy brought them level again before Jake McNamara put them ahead with a fine run and finish. Mikey O Keefe finished the game off in the last couple of mins with a cool finish. Best on the day for the winners were Shane Ryan, James O Sullivan and Jake Mcnamara while for Pallas who tried very hard Scott Ryan Coleman, Gavin Tobin, Evan McCarthy and the keeper Danny Feeley who was Excellent.

461010/04/1710/04/173PDP FAI workshops Limerick County 25 April 2017“The introduction of the FAI Player Development Plan (PDP) in July 2015 saw the commencement of a uniform approach to the development of young footballers in Ireland across all schoolboy/girl leagues with the emphasis on a player-focussed model where the development of the players is more important than the outcome of the games they play. The FAI has been delivering PDP Workshops across the country explaining the plan and giving practical demonstrations of the 5v5 and 7v7 playing formats and the LCDUL are delighted to announce that the league will be hosting a PDP Workshop – delivered by FAI High Performance Director Ruud Dokter and FAI Grassroots Director Tom O’Shea - on Tuesday 25th April. The Workshop which is a mix of an indoor presentation (in Charleville Park Hotel) and a practical demonstration at Charleville All weather is open to all club coaches working with players from 6 to 16. The Workshop will run from 7.00pm to 9.30pm with registration taking place in the hotel from 6.30pm. Clubs have to contact the league in advance to confirm 1 officer and 3 coaches names, email address etc that will be in attendance. Please email information to
456707/04/1707/04/173PDP FAI workshop Limerick County 25 April 2017 LCDUL will host an FAI player development plan (PDP) workshop run by Ruud Dokter FAI high performance director in Charleville on 25 April 2017 from 19.00 - 22.00. The idea is to showcase the ideas behind the FAI PDP and to help all leagues and clubs to embrace the roll out. We have seen it benefit particularly in small sided games with kids getting so many touches of the ball instead of a load of players on the field and less than half of them getting touches. It will be a great honour to have Ruud and his FAI family in our league and i am sure all clubs will also get great benefit. We are requesting that all clubs will send one club officer and at least 3 underage coaches to the workshop. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me . I hope to have some promotional details in the coming days. Thanks Eoghan O Donnell

455104/04/1704/04/173U13 ETP LIMERICK COUNTY u13 boys rounded off their competitive interleague season on sunday 19th march against North Tipperary & Limerick District leagues respectively. Match one versus North Tipperary was played in some wet & windy conditions on the UL astro pitch, but the conditions had no bearing on a good display from the county limerick boys despite going down 3-1 on the scoreline. From the 1st whistle the county lads were up for it after last weeks disappointing display. The trio of Darragh o`Brien, Aaron Moffat & Owen o`Sullivan set the tone in the middle of the field and we created three good early chances with Shane o`Brien twice & Jake McNamara denied by good goalkeeping. With conditions in our favour keeper Jack Mcnamara was a spectator for the 1st half as County dominated and playing with nice width from Paddy Bermingham & Jake Mc on the wings we eventually opened the scoring when Shane o`Brien latched onto a through ball an finished superbly from a tight angle ,from here to halftime more chances came for county and unfortunately missed as Harry Fox was creating chances with his attacking runs & intelligant passing from midfield. We were to rue those missed chances as two has to be said softly conceded goals early in the 2nd half put us on our heels, UP to this point the back four of Euan Sheridan,Paddy Kennedy, Noah Patterson & Conor Hynes had looked comfortable and the wind & rain in their faces was probably a factor in conceding these two.

439613/03/1713/03/173U12 Limerick County vs. North Tipp Limerick county U12 boys interleague squad of 23 played their 4th game in the competition on Sunday vs. North Tipp. It was a nice sunny day which should lead to some good cheer and good football. We were not disappointed All 23 lads came to the game with great spirit and willingness to do what was needed to get all three point s. We were eventual winners 2-0. The second development game was another great game where the boys have given the coaches a headache for the next team selection against Limerick District. it was important that we were structure and patent and we were unlucky not to take the lead in the first half. Reaction to the second ball killed us in the second half so thats something we can work on at training. Well done to all the boys and thanks to the parents who drove and supported the team.
439413/03/1713/03/173U13 ETP Limerick County u13 boys interleague squad played their 3rd competitive game of the series against CLARE league on sunday and lost 1-0 in a disappointing result in what was a scrappy poor game of football. County boys started on the front foot early on and an early chance fell to striker Shane o`Brien who`s effort was well saved by the clare keeper. The game then got bogged down in a midfield battle where county boys Darragh o`Brien, Killian Ahern & John English gave as good as they got. Unfortunately for us game wasn`t been played in the right areas and as such our wide men Shane o`Riordan & Harry Fox were seen little of the ball. Both defences were well on top,County back four of Owen o`Sullivan, Ewan Dillon, Noah Patterson & capt Paddy Kennedy solid and apart from Kian Smith in co goals dealing with a few crosses there was little saves or goalmouth action at either end to trouble the keepers. On the attacking side of things some underhit or misplaced passes was a feature of a frustrating first half. The 2nd half began with a small bit of improvement going forward as we got the ball into more wide areas, but with ten mins in Clare took the lead from probably first shot on target in the game, after a deep cross was cut back a clare midfielder fired low into the bottom corner. Conor Hynes & Cathal o`Mahoney were introduced for county as we chased the game in a change of formation. IN a game were we never reached the levels which we have set ourselves we continued to battle to the the end and credit to the boys they gave it to the final whistle. the 2nd half pretty much mirrored the first after the early clare goal alot of huff & puff from both sides with both defenses on top , the quality was lacking from us the county today, our first touch poor & passes going astray so plenty to work on for us all going forward.Very little goalmouth action apart from a few half chances that went a begging. A bad day at the office or one of those days as the cliche says so hopefully a response next week .

419413/02/1713/02/173U12 SFAI inter league County V Clare Our u12 ETP inter league squad entertained Clare yesterday on a cold windy day in Charleville in the latest round of the subway Inter league. A slow game of football was to come in the first ten mins of the game as both teams got used to the weather conditions, after that the game came to life with Michael Ryan and josh Hartnett starting to run at the opposition and creating chances. The 1st goal came after some brilliantly pressing by David Maloney who took to ball off the full back and ran into the box to find Aaron Moffat waiting outside the box to tap into an empty net. The second goal was all down to David's hunger when he chased down a back pass to the keeper and got a toe the ball before the keeper to make it 2 nil. Credit to Clare they came back strong and forced our goalie Kevin Stanley into some good saves the highlight been a excellent 1v1 save. Clare did fine away through when they split our defence to create a chance which Kevin saved first but couldn’t stop the rebound. With the game 2-1 our boys response was excellent and a brilliant run from Jake McNamara found his midfield partner Aaron waiting to make it 3-1. After an good start to the second half in which we created a few chances, Clare took a gamble and push us back for the last ten minutes and with bodies tiring they were rewarded with a goal for a free kick with 5mins to play but credit to our replacements on the pitch they stayed strong to pick up a deserved win on a score line of 3-2.

413506/02/1706/02/173U13 interleagueLimerick County u13 boys got their 2017 interleague of to the perfect start at home on Sunday 5th feb versus neighbours Limerick Desmond with a 4-0 win. County got off to a lightning start from the first whistle, Owen o`Sullivan playing in striker Shane o`Riordan who`s effort was well saved by Desmond keeper. Only four mins into the game County took the lead, when Darragh o`Brien won possession and immediately found Harry Fox who beat the fullback and tucked away a fine effort in off the far post. County were on top in the early exchanges and from a pinpoint Harry Fox free kick delivery shortly after capt Paddy Kennedy rose highest but unluckily headed over. County were on top in the middle of the park with John English, Owen o`Sullivan & Darragh o`Brien pressuring the opposition in to mistakes.

401416/01/1716/01/173U12 ETP V Kerry 16.01.2017LCDUL under 12s ETP squad visited St Brendans park Tralee yesterday , for the latest round of the SFAI Subway inter league competition. On a wet damp day our boys took a few minutes to get a feel of the pitch, and had to weather an early Storm from Kerry. An excellent 1v1 save from Kevin Stanley keeping the score 0-0. After that our boys took control of the game, with Aaron Moffatt pulling the strings in midfield and the support play from our fullbacks callum Murphy and Cathal Kearns, we push Kerry back and it was only a matter of time before the goal came. The goal was scored by Jake McNamara, after some excellent pressing from Michael Ryan, he robbed the Kerry fullback and had the composure to find Jake in space to finish it off . But unfortunately 1nil never became 2, and after dominating the second half with Jake McNamara and Hugh Murane going close ,we were punished at the end when after dealing with 3 corners in a row a 4th dubious coner was awarded and it lead to a Kerry equalizer. A brilliant performance by our boys.
400716/01/1716/01/173U13 LETP Clare blitz 15.01.2017County u13s had their 3rd development blitz of four today in Tulla Utd grounds in Clare. Despite the poor weather some terrific football played. 1st game Limerick County 3-1 Limerick Desmond . We went behind early in this game from an old friend & squad member Adam Hickey finishing well to put Desmond 1 up. We weren't behind for long with a great slide through ball by John English into Shane o' Brien who tucked it away. Shortly after County keeper Ultan Hogan was out bravely to collect a dangerous through ball and upon collection, released it long for Shane o'Brien to control expertly, run on and finish with a delicate lob over the keeper. Midway through the 2nd half a strong dribble from Paddy Kennedy deep into Desmond half & then played onto supporting Colin Quaid who quickly fed his club mate Shane o'Riordan to score a nice team goal & secured 3-1 result. Feature of this game outstanding performance's in particular from Cathal o'Mahony & Euan Sheridan.

390114/12/1614/12/163U13 LETP UL 11 Dec 2016Limerick Desmond hosted yesterday's blitz which was held at Newcastle West. 4 teams took part, Limerick Desmond, Clare, South Tipperary and Limerick County. Again, most outfield players got 100 minutes or more of football, with 75 minutes being the least amount. Although these games are non competitive, everyone in attendance might think otherwise as all games are fiercely contested. In our first game we played Clare. We started well and Shane O' Riordan (Charleville)almost scored within 30 second on his return to the squad. His pace and direct running was a features of all games yesterday. We went 1 goal up with a well worked set piece goal that was set up by Killian Ahern and absolutely rifled to the net from an acute angle by Harry Fox. Harry played 2 consecutive 50 minute games yesterday and was a constant threat in both games and probably merits a man of the match award for both games. Clare came back strongly and scored an equaliser mid way through the second half.
389814/12/1614/12/163U13 LETP UL 11 Dec 2016A huge thank you to Cavanaghs of Charleville for their kind sponsorship of our friendly in Charleville. It's always great to see a local business investing in local kids. Please support our sponsors where you can. Thanks again Cavanaghs
387712/12/1620/12/163U12 SFAI SUBWAY Championship On a fab afternoon our U12 LETP squad took to the competitive field against Limerick Desmond in the first Under12 SFAI SUBWAY championship game. The full squad was available with no injuries and gave the coaching staff a real headache on selecting the starting nine. For the nine selected to start they found out that interleague football is played at a very high tempo with some slick passing and moving with no time to catch your breath. Jake McNamara had a few good chances but for the heroics of the Desmond keeper county would have had a goal. The first half was a very nervous one with the ball spending too much time in the air and not enough time on the floor. Limerick Desmond took the lead and I think this was the wakeup call for the county boys.

371415/11/1615/11/163U13LCDUL ETP UL blitz 13.11.2016Limerick County & District Underage League hosted the 1st of four planned Etp u13 soccer blitz days last Sunday in the astro pitchs of UL. Limerick County along with the underage leagues of South Tipperary, Clare & Limerick Desmond served up some top class competitive soccer, with many stars of the future on show. County played some good attacking soccer with great interplay between players a feature of their three games, players got up on 100mins of ball each so lot of tired legs after but the quality never dipped throughout and these games are very benifical to the ongoing development of the players. Limerick Co won the opening game 2-0 v Clare, went down 2-1 to South Tipp in 2nd game & finished with a 2-1 win over neighbours Desmond in third game. Our goalscorers on the day John English (2), Shane o'Brien (2) & Harry Fox. A terrific squad performance with all players excellent on the day, thanks to everyone who helped make it a successful day, UL staff, referees, players, parents & coaches. Limerick County squad. 367710/11/1610/11/163Reporting on U11 down results Note; It is against the ethos of the FAI Player development plan and League policy to include match reports and scores on all games which are non competitive, up to and including under 11 football for boys and girls. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

If a club wishes to request a change to girls fixture kickoff time or venue then they must contact Fixtures Secretary Joe McCormack 087-7505479; by 1pm on the Tuesday before the fixture. Every effort will be made to accommodate clubs but if it is not possible to agree an alteration then the original fixture stands. 2. Re: Girls Under 10 Non Competitive League – per league secretary notification to all clubs on 8th September last all Under 10 fixtures must be fulfilled. A failure to fulfil a fixture will result in a €30 fine on your club; two walkovers will result in team being removed from the league. Most girls participating in this age group will be experiencing their first taste of organised football. Please note some of the important points in relation to U.10 football as set out in the current FAI Player Development Plan: - No official scores are recorded; there are no league tables at Under 10 - Team coaches should rotate players so that they experience different positions on the pitch - Players must have the freedom to express themselves and once the game begins the Coach should just let them play and not ‘direct’ play; parents should not instruct players, they should only encourage players and uphold fair play - 2 x 30 mins; roll on, roll off subs, all players must get playing time

234808/06/1608/06/163U14 Gaynor cup games Day 1 Galway Our first game was against a well backed Galway side. Our girls were under pressure from the off but the midfield and defence were awesome and worked so hard for the team. Our Keeper was outstanding in both halves using her height very well and keeping us in the game in the first half. 0-0 HT. Second half the County girls pushed forward and created some chances of their own but again the Galway defence were strong. then came to opener a very well taken strike by the Galway #10 after winning the ball on the right wing ran towards goal and slotted to the keepers right. good goal. Again our girls pushed and pushed but were caught again with a second great chip of our keeper late on. 2-0 win for Galway but our girls put up some fight.

198707/04/1607/04/163Knockainey U14 Div1 ChampionsIt was an awful day of rain, hail, sunshine and back to rain again how could the field take such an important game this evening in Knockainey as the Under14 try to win the league. The field help up really well and the ref call the game to start. Knockainey started really well with an early goal dismissed for offside. It was not long before we struck again and opened the scoring. Our midfield of Patrick Reale and John Egan were hungry for the ball and their runs from midfield seemed to be causing some problems for Kilmallock. Patrick Reale got his reward with a very well taken strike from outside the box that beat the Kilmallock keeper. As always Owen Cleary was working his socks off up front and he was rewarded with two goals to add to his season tally.

195604/04/1604/04/163Herbertstown U12 Div1 ChampsHerbertstown U12s Div1 League Champions 2015/2016 Our U12's, after emerging from a hard fought win on Thursday night away to a determined Knockainey, took to the pitch again yesterday to play Cullen. Two matches in two days is a tough ask on any player but, due to the strength and depth of the squad, along with the work ethic of all the players we felt confident going into the game knowing that a win or a draw and we would be crowned league champions. From the kick off the game was played at a frantic pace with both side's enjoying varying amounts of possession. Our breakthrough came just before half time with a sublime goal from the ever industrious Hugh Murnane. To their credit Cullen proved to be very tough opponents and pushed us all the way to the final whistle. We held out for the win, due to a fantastic team effort and won the league. To the U12 squad of Art, Colin, Colm, Corey, Cathal, Danny, Harry, Hugh, Jack, Jake, Katie P, Katie O, Luke, Lorcan, Patrick, Ross and Robert a huge congratulations to you all for the hard work that ye put in throughout the year in training. The winning of the league is testament to the work that you have all put in this season. To the parents of the players for your commitment in ensuring that your kids made training / matches week in and week out, thank you. Only for your continued support we would not be able to field a team each week. Also congratulations to the U13's who won the shield last weekend, this along with the success of the U12's makes it a successful season for all involved in the underage setup. Promotion beckons and with it new and exciting challenges!

186522/03/1622/03/163Limerick County U12 Boys Etp Vs Kerry District League - Munster Interleague Match 2 our 2nd match of the day v Kerry an entertaining 0-0 draw was the outcome. Another clean sheet & solid goalkeeping display from Jack Mc. This game was more open despite the final score and both Cathal o Mahoney & Killian Ahern unfortunate not to score. Darragh o Brien was bossing the midfield battle. Noah Patterson's guile with Adam Hickey gave us a solid look at the back.
