Kilmallock U13 crowned League 1 Champions Tonight.

Congratulations to our u13 side who prevailed in a tough encounter with local rivals Ballylanders to win the league this evening.A great support was welcomed and needed as we expected a fierce battle from our counterparts.

From the opening kick of the game to the final whistle we had four seasons of weather, from high wind, hail to sunshine, it was Ballylanders who started brightly attacking on several occasions without success, we had two clear chances that were not converted and when Ballylanders scored it looked like one of those evenings that nothing was going to go right.Dermot Dwane,Ian Finn, and Conor Cleary kept all attacks at bayfor the remainder of the half With a change of ends and tactics from Manager Barry Sheedy to go with a more attacking style it wasnt long before we got on the score sheet where Kevin Sheedy side footed to Odran Donegan, who cleared to Bernard Leahy in turn passed it on to Shane O Brien,a great piece of individual work allowed Shane to break our duck and make a draw of it.

For the next 10 Minutes both sides pushed for a lead, Kilmallock then got a corner launched across by Conor Shanahan, the ball was cleared to outside the penalty box and met with a half volley by Conor Cleary and was never going anywhere but the top corner of the goal.

With a lead now Kilmallock pushed on Eoin Enright passed a ball through to Conor Shanahan who slid it passed the Bally goalie in fine style to make it 3 - 1, two minutes later Conor Finn almost with an identical pass to Conor again who, again tucked neatly to the corner of the Goal. The game was over now as a contest and Sean Cleary our ManOfTheMatch passed it to Steve Ward who made a great run to the corner and passed it Liam Harte, Liams shot was deflected and waiting was Oisin Enright to slot home Number 5. Dean Casey and Luke Earls had shots late on to be saved by the Ballylanders Goalie. This win culminated a great season and we can look forward to the cup semi final on Saturday which if we can suceed against Cappamore will be the icing on the cake. All support welcome at 5.00 Saturday late afternoon, Again welldone to all, esp our Manofthe match Sean Cleary and great work from Conor Finn.
