Congratulations to Knockainey AFC

Anthony Kirby (Chair) and Eoghan O'Donnell (treasurer) of Knockainey AFC pictured with Minister Patrick O'Donovan and FAI Chief executive John Delaney at the announcement of the clubs purchase of 7 acres in Knockainey Co Limerick. This will allow for two full size 11 a side pitches, a dedicated under10 pitch and floodlit grass training area at the facility with the future plans for an all weather pitch.

"It is with great pleasure that we are in a position to announce this great news that the committee of Knockainey AFC has put pen to paper on a deal the purchase 7 acres of land and cement the future of our ever growing young club in the soccer community. We would like to thank John Delaney FAI and his staff for all their help to date. We would also like to thank Minister O Donovan for being part of this momentous day for our club" said Eoghan O'Donnell treasurer of the club

"It is our plan to continue to include all the community young and not so young, local and not so local to have a facility that they can come along with their kids/grandkids/nieces/nephews etc and see them enjoy their time with their friends in the fresh air having fun and getting fit"

"We have great plans for this little club to be inclusive already housing the local athletics club, our ladies from Knockainey ladies football club often train on the pitch, our local GAA senior and juvenile clubs are welcome to use the facility as it's a facility for the community for all to enjoy"

"We have a very dedicated committee who are working so hard for the kids and adults of the community to have a facility in the area that they can be proud of. Its so important to us as a club that everyone who comes through the gates here at Knockainey AFC feel at home, safe, relaxed and wanted.
